I’m a big believer of walking to clear your mind. Not long hikes, just 30 minute a day walks to focus on yourself. I lived in London for almost two years, and was just a short distance away from a small park. Whilst I didn’t walk everyday, especially in the winter as it was too dark after work, I did try to walk around that park and others as much as possible. I felt that I needed to clear my head and the best way to do that was to go for a walk around the block.
At the beginning of the year, I moved out of London and back into the countryside, where I grew up. I have big green open spaces on my doorstep and yet I rarely go for a walk. Last weekend (aka Gilmore Girls Revival is finally here weekend), I decided that before sitting down to binge on all four episodes, with not a cloud in the sky, I had better go on that walk that I had been putting off for weeks. Autumn is one of my favourite times of year and I was worried that I’d missed the golden leaf carpets and the orange canapees but I hadn’t. The autumn leaves were still there and still magical.
I really encourage you to get out this week and go for a walk around any green space near you or even just your block. The leaves are still clinging onto their branches so it’s the perfect time to go. I so want to get back into the habit of walking everyday but, even if for now it’s just once a week, it will definitely be better than nothing! Happy walking!
